I'm Tom, an ex-academic now freelance programmer with a side line in music and low cost robotics such as the PiWars competition series. I write and maintain a Python library for joystick controls for fun, and use other languages for work as needed!
I started programming as a hobby around 17 years ago. At that time I also was into video-game hacking. Much later, I realised I could make a living from my hobby and took it seriously. I'm currently working for 8thLight and liking functional programming
I've worked in many fields, and know many languages, as well as embedded and electronics work. I've always had an interest in teaching, and always happy to help those that need it. I've aways been ready to mentor those within the companies I've worked for
Software engineer, electronics geek and skilled computer-rebooter. I've previously been a volunteer mentor at Student Robotics and related organisations, helping teams of teens build autonomous robots.
