I am a machine learning data scientist at ASOS producing fashion recommendation models in python with TensorFlow. Previously I programmed in C++ for a software company and did a PhD principally using python.
I love coding and technical problem solving. I am passionate about empowering underrepresented minorities by supporting them as they learn to code. I'm currently a PM at Google, and have worked on Android, Chrome, and now Maps. I have a bachelors in CS.
I have experience teaching programming to diverse groups of students through my experience as lead instructor of the Data Science Immersive course at General Assembly. As part of this I also taught Python, intro web development, machine learning, etc.
I'd be happy to contribute to reduce disparities in access to tech. I have experience working with data with Python, R, and SQL, and as an academic tutor. I am a queer emigrant working in tech, passionate about language, self-taught coder.
I taught myself python as an undergraduate and am now doing a PhD in data science. I teach on various machine learning, NLP and programming courses. This summer I'm back in Cambridge and would like to continue helping people to code.
I've worked as an academic scientist and as a scientist / software engineer / data scientist in industry. At codebar I'd like to help people feel empowered to chase after software roles outside of web/fullstack.
