An Evening with Pragmatic Bookshelf - Author Edition
Tue, 11th June | 16:00 - 18:00 BST (GMT+01:00)

Please join us virtually for an evening with Pragmatic bookshelf authors Leemay Nassery and VM (Vicky) Brasseur to learn more about AI and Copyright and Licensing for Software Developers.

Both of these talks will be done online using Zoom. To attend, please RSVP and all attendees will be emailed details about how you can join the session. The first talk will kick off at 4PM (GMT).

Leemay Nassery : "Behind Every AI feature, there’s an A/B Test"

A popular domain that relies on A/B testing to evaluate the effectiveness is AI. In this talk we’ll discuss how a/b testing is a key step in developing algorithms for user facing products and the many benefits of measuring the impact with this experimentation methodology.

VM (Vicky) Brasseur : "The Basics of Copyright and Licensing for Software Developers"

In this talk Vicky will present the basics of copyright and licensing as it relates to software development in general and free and open source software in particular. Some of the topics she will cover: When is your work copyrightable? Who owns the copyright to what you create? What is a license and why does it matter? What's so special about free and open source licenses, anyway? When do you have to hire a lawyer?

If you have any questions, please drop us an email at [email protected].
