Brighton Christmas Party
Thu, 17th December | 18:30 - 21:00 GMT (GMT+00:00)

We'd like to invite you to the codebar Brighton virtual festive party! If you can come, please RSVP using the invitation link below.

Email [email protected] and let us know if you're entering the seasonal Show & Tell!

--- It's Party Time! ---

2020 has been a year like no other, so we want to celebrate our wonderful students and coaches for the amazing things you have achieved and the help you've given this year!

Come and join us on Zoom for some festive fun (link shared on the day). Dress up is encouraged, but not required :)

--- Seasonal Show & Tell! ---

Open to both students and coaches.

We'd love to see what you've been learning, so we're going to have a seasonal-themed Show & Tell!

Make absolutely anything, with whatever language/ library/ technology you'd like. As long as it's seasonal, festive, or 2020 themed!

--- Ideas ---
  • Check out festive pens on CodePen for inspiration
  • Create a seasonal scene with CSS
  • Animate some snowflakes
  • Experiment with web typography and typeset a Christmas song
  • Code a winter text adventure game
  • Build some LED decorations
  • Make a webpage for Santa's delivery service
  • Add snow to the web with a Chrome extension
  • Use the opportunity to practise what you have learned this year, try out something new, or make something just for fun.

  • It doesn't even have to be code — in the past someone has written a codebar Christmas carol!

If possible, email your finished CodePen/ files/ URL link to [email protected] before midday on 17th December, or you can share your own screen at the party to demo what you have made – presentations to be no more than about 5 minutes long.

Attendee spots will be limited initially (do join the waiting list if full) but you're guaranteed a place if you're taking part in the Show & Tell! :)

This event has already occurred.
