Join us for a day of talks, and panel discussions on all things tech, career and wellbeing to help you further your skills in tech and develop a holistic career in the industry. We even have a CV review hour where you can bring along your CV and have someone review it.

• 10:15 - Pat Graczyk - Is My Code Doing Good? How Is The Tech Industry Impacting Climate Change?
  What role does the tech industry play in addressing climate change? What impact does it have? And, what can you do as a software developer to reduce your carbon footprint?
• 10:45 - Ashwin Kumar Uppala - Structuring Communities To Be Passive Inclusive
  In this talk Ashwin will share, their experience of building two inclusive communities with over 2900+ global members from scratch, how managing your community’s inclusive actions can have a huge impact on its members, how to set up a community structure to promote inclusivity and how to tweak the existing non-human assets in the community (bots, email formats, Code of Conducts) to make them inclusive.

This will discuss how they've made their teams more diverse, as well as how diversity has encouraged their teams to create better, more inclusive software.

  Bring along your CV and have someone review it and give you tips.
• 15:00 - Navendu Pottekkat - How Open Source Mentorship Programs Helped Me Level-Up My Career
  In this talk, Navendu will walk us through how such programs have benefited him and others from similar backgrounds that offer significantly fewer opportunities. He will also share his journey leading to working in open source full-time with global and diverse teams.

• 16:00 - Jessie Auguste - Secure Software Development Fundamentals
  In this talk Jessie will explore topics such as; understanding the common threats and vulnerabilities that can impact software security, implementing secure coding practices, using tools and technologies to help identify and fix security vulnerabilities in your code and understanding the role of secure design principles and architecture in building secure software.
• 16:30 - Seyoung Joo - Accessibility with Mobile & Web
  In this talk Seyoung will discuss; what is accessibility and why it's important to know as a software engineer, how to use screen reader accessibility tools with IOS, Android and Web, how to implement to web (demo with Chrome) and much more.
