The talks 🗣

Nicola Griscti (she/her): "Nomadic Freelancing: Work from Anywhere"

In 2020 we saw the pandemic open up the working from home.. to working from Rome.. or wherever you decide to be as a digital freelancer. Part of the benefits of freelancing is that you are able to pick your projects.. but not just that, true freelancing can allow you to be more flexible with your hours and even your own workplace. Running a freelance consultancy for now 4 years, opening a discussion on how I source projects, how the pandemic has changed the workforce and how new networks of digital coworkers are emerging and new patterns of working and location.

Ratib Ahmed (He/Him): "Knowing Your Why"

Making choices for your career can be quite daunting so it is super important to understand your motivations for becoming a freelancer and how it ties into your long-term career aspirations. We’ll look at discussing how you can identify your ‘why’ and explore why these are key to a successful career.

Greg Lewis (he/him) : "You are the brand"

People are increasingly leaving their full-time jobs to work for themselves. As a result, competition is increasing in the market. In a crowded market, how do you stand out? Branding is not just for large corporations; it can also benefit freelancers. I'll talk about how I started out in the industry and go through some best practices you can implement in your business to help you stand out from the pack.

Kyle Chubb (he/him) : "Pensions for freelancers: Everything you need to know"

Confused about pensions? Self-employed pension experts Penfold chat through everything you need to know to sort your pension once and for all. Including; how self-employed pensions work, how to find/combine old pensions and how to maximise your savings.

Jasal Vadgama (he/they) : "Misconceptions and lessons learned working as a freelancer"

Getting into freelancing can be quite daunting. When I was starting out I though I needed to be a certain way, have a certain amount of knowledge and experience, and almost no idea of what it meant to run a business. I hope to bust a couple of those myths and give you something to think about so you can get the most out of being a freelancer.
