Let's Build Our First API - part of codebar Festival 2026

As part of codebar Festival, during this virtual technical workshop with Julissa Rodriguez, together we'll demystify APIs by building one from scratch using Node.js and Express.

What you'll learn:

• What an API actually is (no jargon, we promise)
• How to create endpoints that respond to requests
• Building a mini CRUD application in 90 minutes

Prerequisites: Basic JavaScript knowledge (variables, functions). No prior API experience needed.

Setup: We'll use StackBlitz (browser-based), so just bring your laptop and a modern browser. Zero installation required.

You'll leave with: A working API you built yourself and the confidence to keep exploring.
