My Story, Our Journeys into Tech

Have you completed lots of courses but still feel unsure about what to do next? Every learner must know how to move beyond tutorials and begin applying their skills to real problems.

Join us during National Coding Week for an honest and inspiring panel discussion with four people working in tech. Our panellists will share their different learning journeys, the training they completed, the projects and practical experience that helped them develop, and what made the difference when applying for jobs.

Our Panellists are:

• Alex Radu (She/Her) VP - Engineering Practices Education and Community Lead at JPMorgan Chase
• Adejumo Adefisayo (She/Her) Full-stack engineer at DTI
• Helen Khor (She/Her) Custom Software Engineer Specialist at Accenture
• Rosa Fox (She/Her) Senior Backend Engineer at Zuno

There is no single route into technology. This discussion will offer practical insight into what comes after tutorials and how you can begin turning what you have learned into experience that employers value.

At the end of the discussion, there will be time for an audience Q&A.

Who Should Attend?

This beginner-friendly session is designed for anyone learning technical skills or considering a career in technology. It will be especially helpful if you are:

• Following tutorials but unsure what to do next
• Completing an online course or bootcamp
• Building your first independent projects
• Preparing to apply for your first role in tech
• Changing careers or returning to work
• Looking for realistic advice from people already working in the industry

No previous professional experience in technology is required.
