Real-time Revolution: An Introduction to WebSockets
Mon, 24th June | 18:00 - 20:00 BST (GMT+01:00)

If you’ve ever used an online live chat, liked a picture on social media or played an online game in a browser, chances are you’ve used WebSockets. This communication protocol allows servers and clients to communicate in real time, removing the need to reload after user interactions and unlocking exciting user experiences.

In this workshop we’ll look at how WebSockets work, explore some exciting use cases and implement them for ourselves using Javascript, Node.js and the popular library Socket.IO. Please come to this workshop with Node already installed, you can do that here.

This workshop will happen on Zoom, you'll receive the link in the morning. It will be recorded and uploaded to our YouTube channel after. If you have any questions please drop us an email [email protected].
