In this 2-hour virtual workshop, you will learn how to code a basic Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning model. We're going to explore a dataset, figure out how to clean and prepare it, and then use the data to train a model that can actually do its own "thinking". As ambitious as this sounds, there are tons of tools out there that help us to code the technical solution, without diving deep into the mathematics and theory.
Machine Learning has recently become a very popular way to explore interesting problems. codebar had a vote, and it was decided that the problem we're going to be exploring is making an AI that can detect emotion in a piece of text. All you need is a computer, a consistent wi-fi connection, and some basic Python coding skills. If you know how to make a dictionary in Python, you're in the game. If not, feel free to email me at
[email protected] and we can discuss how to brush up your coding abilities before the event. Conversely, if you are skilled or even proficient with Data Science and Machine Learning, please get involved- your thoughts and opinions will make the discussion even better.
This workshop will involve a ton of learning and audience interaction because we want to make sure you leave it with new-found knowledge and interest in the field, even if we don't come up with a perfect technical solution this time around.
This event is virtual and will be done via Zoom so please make sure you have downloaded this beforehand. And on the morning of the event we will send you the Zoom details to join. This event is happening at 18:30 (BST).
