Join us for a mindfulness practice based on somatic experiencing and neurodiverse individuals who struggle with seated meditations.
While focused on neurodivergent people this session is open to anyone who would like to join.
The session will be lead by Andrea one of the codebar Barcelona organisers.
Magyk trips comes from my own creative practice, where I like to play with the words. Knowing that for people, specially for me, it was almost impossible to “quiet my mind” or simply stay put through these meditations, I came up with my own. I trained as a contemporary dancer and I became obsessed with aspects of our bodies like proprioception and phenomenology.
It makes a lot of sense for many brains to fear staying put and “clearing the mind” however, we know how important this is for our bodies and minds. Hence, I have researched both in empirically and academically ways of achieving this same effects. The good news is that you don’t need to become a monk or stay still to calm your mind and body. These exercises based in mindfulness bring your to an autonomic response of your vagus nerve in order to start building some coherence with your inner world.
