Get to know a DevOps Engineer
Fri, 16th July | 12:00 - 13:00 BST (GMT+01:00)

“Get to know a …” series is a new lunchtime talk series where we’ll be chatting with people who code in their job roles. We want to expose our community to the huge variety of roles possible that involve coding, not just Web Developer or Software Engineer. To read more about the weekly series please read this blogpost. In this session, we'll be chatting with Mezbaur Rahman who is a DevOps Engineer. He works as a Platform Engineer for a high-end fashion retail business in the UK. His career has revolved, like many other DevOps engineers from being a Linux SystAdmin, DevOps, and now a Platform Engineer. Most of his day-to-day work involves developing Cloud services using Infrastructure-as-Code tool Terraform, deploying microservices to Kubernetes platform (EKS) using Helm + FluxCD, creating CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions, investigating the usual issues that arise with the Cloud services, and plan for improving platform services. The first 20 minutes of this session will be Mezbaur talking about his role, what he does, how he got the role, followed by a Q&A where you can ask him any questions you have about the role. This session will be on Zoom, you'll receive the Zoom link on the morning of the session. All sessions will be recorded and uploaded to our YouTube channel after the session. If you have any questions please drop us an email [email protected].
