Agenda

Join us for the March edition of codebar Monthlies.

Speakers:

Danielle Vass, “All You Need Are Squares and Circles - Teaching Kids to Code Creatively With JavaScript”

Increasing technology literacy is a vital part of future as a society. Educating the next generation is possibly the most important path in achieving that goal. I have spent the past several years actively teaching kids JavaScript and have built my own web platform to much success. My aim is to share the information I have learnt and make it more accessible for everyone to teach and learn to code!

Kadi Kraman, “Once you React You Can't Go Back”

Kadi is a developer at Red Badger who host the London React User Group meetings and use Facebook's React in pretty much every single project. React is still considered by some to be an "untested" technology (currently at v0.14) and more enterprise companies are scared to use it in case it's a fad. It's not. Trust her on this. Once you use React on the frontend, it's incredibly hard to go back to using anything else. It's reactive (hehe), highly testable, reusable, modular and just provides a great developer experience.

Lightning Talks:

Georgia O'Brien, "Breaking through the beginner bottleneck: how to progress beyond the basics of coding"

Jonny Arnold, "A Whistlestop Tour of Databases*"

Tatiana Soukiassian, "Useful tricks to keep a clean commit history"
