I will be talking about how to make a snake game, based on my medium article below: https://medium.freecodecamp.org/think-like-a-programmer-how-to-build-snake-using-only-javascript-html-and-css-7b1479c3339e
Making a Momentum-like productivity extension for Chrome is a great project for beginner (beginner-to-intermediate?) coders wanting to practice their combined HTML, CSS, and Javascript skills, and more straightforward than you may think!
This talk will walk through how I built mine and point out helpful tips to keep in mind, some things to look out for, and lessons I learned along the way.
Too often interviews can end up one sided, with the interviewer leaving a token couple of minutes for candidate questions at the end.
In this talk we'll cover questions you can ask your interviewer(s) such as expectations for the role, company culture, different styles of working and approaches to building products, so you can make an informed choice and get a better sense of fit. Also, to get an idea of the current challenges and any difficulties they might be facing.
Hopefully we can make interviews more like a conversation, rather than interrogation!
You go to meet-ups, read books & blogs, learn new languages – great! Investing in your professional development is fun and rewarding. But what is your company doing to support you on that journey, and help you focus on the most impactful things?
I’m going to talk about some of the techniques we use at Songkick to help make professional development clear, fair, and deliberate.
